Joining this half-day land tour, you will have the chance to meet Santorini, the most famous island of the Aegean Sea. You will start your tour from the Akrotiri excavations, the most important prehistoric settlement and commercial center of the Aegean with a 4000 years history. The whole town was covered by the volcanic materials from the blast that occured at the last quarter of the 17th BC century and protected the buildings until noadays.

You will continue your tour to the Pyrgos village, the old capital of the island, built on the highest point of the island, on the slope of the mountain Profetes Elias. In the center of the village you will visit the medieval castle that still retains its Venetian characteristics with houses built amphitheatrically around it. On the top of the mountain there is the Profetes Elias monastery, one of the oldest churches in the island, probably from the 10th century.

Before you take the road for the famous Oia village, you will have a stop to a local winery where you will see up close the wine manufacturing, a tradition that is strongly connected with Santorin’s history.

You will end your tour at Oia, the second most important village of Santorini with outstanding beauty and the unique view from Caldera. Oia stands for its mafical sunset and the houses-caves which are dug into the rock.
